In the name of the War on Terror, the Bush Administration has tried to destroy the rights that define us by limiting freedoms, stifling dissent, and attacking our patriotism—all while doing little to actually prevent terrorism and increase security. You are conclusive proof that our civil liberties are alive and well. The growing number of captured al Qaeda and foiled terrorist plots, and our economic recovery and peoples' willingness to fly again and to buy again after 9/11, prove that we are making progress in the war on terrorism. Terrorism, after all, is designed to make people fearful and to disrupt their lives. If it's the terrorists who are hiding in caves while we feel free to move about, I think that's a pretty good sign.
