The history of the human species has been one of pervasive barbarism. But over the last 300 years or so we have slowly tempered that barbarism, with things like democracy, the rule of law and modern humanitarian ideals like civil rights and social programs that help all people.

The Democrats have been on the forefront of that humanitarian evolution, while the Republicans have been hanging on to the barbarism as we trudge forward, like dragging a honey badger along attached to our pant leg.

And it is two steps forward and one back. To even be discussing whether we should allow same sex or interracial marriage is barbarism more fitting to the 19th century.

Or Social security and universal health care.

The kids and females see how barbaric the Republicans are, and I expect them to be out in force in 2024, thank god.
