About Inprise(TM) Application Server(TM) 4.1

Inprise Application Server is one of the first application servers to combine the benefits of EJB and CORBA. By combining CORBA and EJB technologies into the Inprise Application Server, customers can take advantage of the two major industry standards in enterprise computing, enabling them to easily integrate existing information technology resources with new, powerful Web applications. Leveraging the proven scalability and reliability of VisiBroker 4 enables customers to create e-business applications that can handle the high volumes of transactions required for doing business on the Web.

The Inprise Application Server also provides comprehensive support for the Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)). Inprise/Borland is redefining the value that developers can expect from an application server by combining the open, cross-platform, and cross-language framework of CORBA with the transactional business logic of Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) technology.
