Guy I think you must know this but for the benefit of this diiscussion I will quote K.E. CEO of Iomega. I attended the last anualstock holders meeting in person. When Kim Edwards was asked about the Compaq Computer regarding the Ls120 K.E. CEO Iomg Responed at that time he He sees them as a future costumer. The exact wording I use may not be correct but the meaning I recived from his words are correct. Another interesting point. I myself asked K.E. During this meeting to respond with his thoughts of to the possabilty of Zip being used as a method of media distribution. He rssponed with intrust to this possibility and sounded positive of the desire for this use. I wish I could rember his exact words. I rember that day the stock went up about ten points. I rember K.E. gitting two standing ovations. The fact is Compaq can still be a OEM with Iomega. Compaq is in the business of making computers that people will buy. Compaq can only get positive results from a lot of internet information exchange from aligning itself with Iomega. I truly don't think people will rush out to buy a compaq computer from this websight or from AOL's fools web sight. Compaq without Iomg is risking a lot losing a lot of SALES!!! We The people on the net are the computer users. We are the customers. We can decide what computers we will buy. As for me I will not buy a computer without a Zip or Jazz drive in it. When people ask me about Computers I tell them about the Fine Computers that have Iomega products in them. Compaq may need a wake up call to understand who buys there products. The best wake up call any company can get is in there sales. Compaq must offer what there coustcustomers want or people will buy from another company. So compaq can give us what we want or become less important to the issue by not being the biggest computer manufacture anymore. If compaq louses anough market share due to it's inability to give us what we want then Compaq just won't matter anymore. Ok The zip disk as a way to distribute media. I belive it would at this time cost more to distribute on zip as opposed to other available ways, But packaging Software ect on a Zip or Jazz disk would greatly enhance the attractiveness of many products to a lot of people like me. I would love to buy my next software on a zip disk instead of some useless CD or 1.44 floppy's. I bet games and other interactive applications could really benefit from the speed and read write ability of Zip and Jazz. I'm not a tec pro in this area but to me it seems common sense. Now If Compaq see's he light and decides to sghin with Iomega this stock will take off like a rocket regardless of what the rest of the market is doing. Becouse at that point Iomega will be the undisputed Standard. Compaq can be a hero. Compaq can capitalize on all the attition Iomega is gitting compaq can end up being embraced by a lot of it's costumers or rejected by them. I bet before Thanksgiving Compaq will relize this and do it's self a big favor. Taking this one step further Compaq could get a lot of free publicity and rase it's stock price by just becomming a OEM with IOMG. What Great timing Compaq could have. If Compaq Signed with Iomega tomorrow what would you be willing to sell your shares of Iomega for then? This action could easly snowball into a TEC sector market recovery. Or is it that i'm just up to late and need to Go to bed. Good night all gota go to bed Bob
