--Pluvia Uncovered!!! "Don't Tread On Me"
Last week Westergaard Broadcasting Network (WBN) posted a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person posting twisted information about Premier Laser Systems (PLSIA) on Silicon Investor and Motley Fool message boards under the nom de plume "Pluvia". The offer expired Wednesday at noon EDT. wbn.com westergaard.com
The exercise has been successful. WBN Cyberpatrol has established who the real "Pluvia" is, where he lives, and has a pretty good handle on his motives. A winner of the reward has been selected. Further commentary on the Pluvia case will be forthcoming.
Payment of the reward is solely the responsibility of Westergaard Online Systems, Inc. PLSIA was not consulted prior to offering the reward and bears no responsibility for payment or for any other events related to the Pluvia vs. Westergaard matter on Silicon Investor. Subject 16571
Pluvia vs. Westergaard is a so-called "thread" on Silicon Investor, which has been underway for the last week with over 400 postings as of this morning. What WBN Cyberpatrol has achieved here, is "proof of principle" as to its ability to perform a constructive role in protecting WBN member affiliate cyberstations from hostile attack on the Internet. It has been made clear to members of Silicon Investor, one of the Internet's most influential investor forums in a class with Motley Fool, that anonymous hostile attacks on WBN member affiliates will not be tolerated. This statement is in no manner intended as criticism of Silicon Investor, which is a member forum with the right to establish whatever guidelines it wishes as to appropriate postings.
What we have unearthed in the Pluvia matter is that the man's motives are not primarily investment oriented. He hides behind this shield, even at one point telling the PLSIA CEO that he represented hedge fund short sellers. His true motives are business related -- he is out to damage PLSIA's reputation among dentists in order to benefit a competitor of PLSIA with which Pluvia has a business tie. I am told that he has advised dentists that purchase of a PLSIA laser for teeth whitening might subject them to legal action for participation in a patent infringement. We are looking further into the matter.
WBN Cyberpatrol will henceforth carry a logo -- it will be one of those flags from the American Revolution (also adopted by the Boy Scouts of America) illustrating a snake with the phrase: "Don't Tread On Me".
As for Pluvia, he will shortly be initiated as a charter appointee to the WBN Cyberpatrol's "Gallery of Rogues". In conformance with basic tenets of the doctrine of free speech, Pluvia's anonymity will be protected, but not his right to employ that anonymity to destructive ends. |
