Four in 10 U.S. adults told researchers that they had gone without needed care because of the cost, including skipping prescriptions, avoiding going to the doctor, or skipping a recommended test or treatment.

That just happened to me. I stepped on a nail in my yard. My cousin wanted me to get a tetanus shot. That would have been an easy $100-200.......so he put me on an antibiotic regime. Shortly, thereafter, I started coughing. The coughing got worse and worse inexplicably. One day it suddenly dawned on me that the antibiotic might be the problem and I stopped taking it. The coughing stopped almost immediately. Previously, I had taken the antibiotic before without a problem but not for an extended period. It turns out over the long haul, I am allergic to it.

I bet decisions like mine are made all the time in this country because of our inadequate health coverage.
