USA Video Interactive Completes Development and Testing of Technology; All Systems 'Go' for Orlando Demonstration MYSTIC, Conn., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Inetcable.com will unveil its new broadband delivery service at the North American Broadcasters Association annual meeting in Orlando, Florida next week. Television networks including PBS, CNN, TeleVisa and others will participate in the upcoming demonstration of Internet broadcast of TV at the meeting. The system designed by USA Video Interactive (OTC Bulletin Board: USVO; CDNX: US; usvo.com) and Inetcable.com has been completed and is performing flawlessly. In the next few days, portions of the system will be shipped to the Ottawa, Canada headquarters of Inetcable.com and to the DisneyWorld Convention Center in Florida for the demonstration.
"With our very tight deadlines, USA Video Interactive and our own engineers collaborated to produce the most highly advanced overall system in the industry," said Stuart Duncan, President of Inetcable.com. "The leadership of USA Video Interactive in this project has been invaluable and the proof will be seen next week."
The demonstration is the first deployment of several additional deployments planned by Inetcable.com in the immediate future. Additionally, the number of network stations carried by the USA Video Interactive/Inetcable.com system will expand to 60 or more and will include signals from Mexico, the United States and Canada.
"This is an excellent combination of the leading innovative Internet video technology with the leading innovative cable broadcast technology to lead the way in opening a whole new realm in entertainment," said Edwin Molina, President of USA Video Interactive. "It is what technological convergence is all about-bringing the best aspects of technologies together for the benefit of the user."
In its role as technology partner and integrator with Inetcable.com, USA Video Interactive also worked with Inetcable.com on the satellite portion of the project. The concept of this project is to route live TV broadcast signals to USA Video Interactive's "live" encoding engines. The TV signals are then compressed using USA Video Interactive's Lightning Strike Wavelet compression technique, then coupled with Inetcable.com's broadband viewer and caching software and routed through USA Video Interactive Hurricane video servers to be broadcast via Inetcable's satellite distribution system. The signals feature the world's first international broadband netcasts of Spanish and English language programming at 30 frames per second.
