Paris, la plus belle ville du monde!

AMD is definitely not a stock to buy for the CPU segment...Intel has
pretty much a lock on the market in that arena...83%.

However, 70% of AMD's business is in other segments of the market...
they supply a huge amount of chips to Nortel for the DMS switches,
to the PCS manufacturers for the coming PCS revolution, to the consumer electronics manufacturers for the "smart" appliances that
will be the wave of the future, lots of other stuff. Check out the
press releases at www.amd.com--disappointing quarter aside, there are
lots of reasons to be optimistic about this company.

Since you're in Europe, perhaps you know about the big fab that they're building in Germany...the German government chipped in the
land and 2/3 of the cost to build the plant, plus gave AMD a long-term
low interest loan. When that fab comes on line, AMD will be in a
position to supply a lot of European manufacturers, and that is a huge
and rapidly growing market.

Au revoir...bonne chance!
