The tax cuts are the only part of the stimulus bill that one can say ANYTHING positive about, and certainly, are the only part of it having any "stimulative" effect.

But the reality is that these cuts are largely more welfare -- giving ANOTHER $500 to anyone making under 20K, and $650 to those making between 19 and 38K.

This would certainly do more to stimulate the economy than anything else he has done, however, the downside is that it is a massive amount of money added to the national debt for consumption.

That said, if he had stopped with the tax cuts, we would have gotten whatever benefits are to be derived from the stimulus, without having to have the other 500 Billion in debt which totally offsets the value of it.
