Re: guilty until proven innocent

I'm with UF on this one. Savage's nicely remunerated job on the Enron board required more than rubber-stamping management's initiatives. The whole lot slumbered rather than tending to its fiduciary knitting.

Can anyone seriously suggest that Enron's board does not bear partial responsibility for the debacle? It's not a question of guilty until proven innocent imo. Just lifting safeguards surrounding self-dealing with the spc's smells and should have alerted any responsible board member.

Not quite the level of alertness one would want in a board member--particularly when major institutions are up in arms over the issue.
