"This was way back in 2000 when Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote."

Well, the electoral college was a compromise to get the southern rural states on board, granting the masters 3/5ths of a vote that the masters could cast on behalf of their slaves, which they no longer have.

So, why don't we fix THAT, so an urban vote would count as much as a rural vote in presidential elections? Rural states STILL get two Senators, even though their populations might not even add up to ONE of our largest cities.
