Re: What I'm looking for is the first time that the Saudis and/or other U.S. "allies" in that area blink. Given Bush's great diplomatic powers, he should have no trouble keeping them in line, or should he?

WASHINGTON
-- The Air Force has identified 11 of the 19 American airmen killed in the June 25 [1996] bomb blast at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

The explosion of a fuel truck injured 300 people at the Khobar Towers housing complex where most of the more than 2,300 stationed at the King Abdul Aziz Air Base live.

The blast, which President Clinton called "a murderous act which must not go unpunished," left 64 people in the hospital, one in critical condition, said Air Force officials.
