it looks consistent with Goldman Sachs about 166MHz, 200MHz and 233MHz been released this year. I am not sure that all of the chips would be introduced at the same time. It is likely that amd would start with 166 and 200 following right after that. By the end of the year they should inroduce 233. By the end of 1998 it is planned to move the design to .25m which should let amd to push it to higher clock speeds.
In some article that was posted on this thread it was stated that p233 with mmx is supposed to fight of a potential amd's claim for fastest chip. k6-166 is supposed to be pr200 but I calculated k6-233 in the range of pr280 (233/166*200). Hence amd will still have a claim for a fastest chip but I guess intel would try to confuse public with clock speeds.
On another note can anyone estimate the pr rating of pentium 233 with mmx? It should be less than 233.
