I think it could have been achieved.

At least we should have tried it. As it is, all we achieved was the death of 4,000+ Americans and the wounding of 26,000 while spending a Trillion plus (and that's gonna be a BIG plus).

I thought going into Iraq was dumb from the getgo. Hussein couldn't do anything to harm us and he was a good buffer against Iran.

The problem is that when we go to WAR now we don't really go to war. We go in and try to massage things so they will all work out because the countries we attack are SO sophisticated and culturally refined that they will CERTAINLY follow a prudent path and THANK us for our expenditures in blood and wealth.

NOT.......

I believe that if you go to WAR you go in with a GOAL. You achieve that goal. If you don't then you end up with a war that cost American LIVES and money but leaves the people that fought in that war feeling like they fought for NOTHING.

If you talk to many of the VETS that fought in Iraq I think they will tell you that they question whether their service there meant ANYTHING.
