Hi Greg, I can tell you that there were offers a year ago (I don't know about $10 though). I am talking about prior to that (around circa 93 or 94) and Microsoft was even prior to that.
In a nutshell, Novell had networking wrapped up in a brown paper bag, and were the Microsoft and IBM of "networking", the Prom Queens, if you will. I believe MSFT made the first NT push (BUST) around 93?
But, they are tenacious, Win95 to thwart OS/2 (successfully <g>, BTW MSFT developed OS/2, you know that, right? Before the divorce from IBM). And then NT to get into the enterprise. But they didn't let a "bust" stop them. They just kept pushing and pushing, until where we are now. You know where we are now, right <G>?. Meantime, Novell is sitting around counting all of thier boyfriends from the Prom and guess what? Whooosh! Wha' happened? NT is all over them like flies on ...., and now they are scrambling.
Well, so much for history. It doesn't matter one way or the other now Greg. What's then was then, what's now is now, and like I keep saying over and over again, they ain't got much time left. Right Gerald (from Novell? <g>)
