France, China snub Pakistan - Block supplies of military equipment From Girja Shankar Kaura Tribune News Service (http://www.tribuneindia.com/) NEW DELHI, July 9 — Concerned about the escalation in the military situation in Kargil, specially the aggression by Pakistan, two of its long- time allies, China and France, have abandoned the country's political leadership and have blocked the supply of military equipment and spare parts needed urgently by Islamabad. Reports here said, irked by the open support lent by Pakistan to the Osama bin Laden backed Mujahideen and growing indications of it emerging as a "terrorist state", the Chinese leadership during the recent visit of Premier Nawaz Sharif, very categorically told the Pakistan leadership that it could not provide assistance in its (Pakistan's) military programme...... tribuneindia.com
