JC;

Your ability to find something obscure and spin it into something else never ceases to amaze me. The servers don't come with windows? Hello? Did you *go* to the site?

rcommerce.us.dell.com

Also, on the topic of price. Again, you have found an example that suits your needs and exploited it. Example:

PowerEdge™ 2400

1. Pentium® III Processor N/A

High Availability Workgroup Server, 733-1000MHz $6075

2. Pentium® III Processor N/A

w/ Backoffice Small Business Server, 733-1000MHz $8173

3. Pentium® III Processor, 733-933 MHz

PowerEdge™ 2400 with Red Hat Linux $6397

Hmmm...looks like a ~$300 dollar price difference to me. AND, if you actually look at the configuration of server 1 and server 3, you will note the following:

Server 1 - Windows NT
733 PIII processor
256 MB RAM
2 9.1 GB HD's
Internal tape backup

Server 3 - Linux
733 PIII processor
128 MB RAM
2 9.1 GB HD's
No tape backup

I'm sure you can play the example game all day and always find an example that beats the previous one... but really, what's the point?
Regards;
Jordan
