gizwick. I'm sorry you feel this way, and I hope I am not part of the reason you want to leave. Your record here seems to be stellar, as I've said. I don't know exactly what you mean by "a group so critical of anyones ideas". We're a diverse group with diverse opinions on what is a value stock. Most of the time if, there's criticism, it's about the stock, not so much about the person posting.

Regarding "everything brought up is deemed not viable": I see two ways in "deeming not viable". A stock suggestion is completely ignored (a "plop"), or there's some negative response. There seems to me to be a trade-off on posts here. On the one hand, some people have complained that they post on a particular stock and they get no feedback, so they say it's a waste because what's the point of posting if no one reads/cares/responds/takes any interest? With that in mind, I kind of felt that at this point, you maybe didn't get the kind of responses (positive posts) you might have expected on the stocks you mentioned that went up or that you were bringing to the thread. On your last post about BGCP, I waited a bit to see if there were any comments, and I decided there should be some acknowledgement of your post. So I posted why the stock was not for me because I didn't comprehend the business situation. I implied though that the stock pick could very well be yet another winner for you or for anyone who followed you and/or understood the situation. I don't see that my post to you is being "so critical of anyone's ideas".

I appreciate that you' may have done quite a bit of research on the stocks you have posted on. I don't recall people being "so critical" of your stock ideas that you would be offended or insulted by their responses though. As far as any of your stock suggestions being implicitly deemed not viable (because of no response), we're a diverse bunch on SI and one person's pick may not be suitable or fit what anyone else is looking for. More than sometimes, I have found that the "no response" stock ideas turn out to be the best stocks.

As far as being "critical of anyone" else's ideas, some people should be able to take the criticism. If they hold themselves out as being or wanting to be professional investors or paid writers, they put themselves out in the marketplace and so they should expect to take a little heat sometimes. And if people post off-topic stuff, there's criticism for that too. This thread holds is a kind of Ben Graham value thread; I don't believe Dr. Graham ever counseled shorting stocks. So for anyone who posts about a specific short, there might be some not entirely positive feedback on this thread.

I'm sorry you're not getting what you want or expect from this thread. I'll miss your stock ideas if you leave!
