I read your post on laptops and was curious about a couple things. You mentioned that Dell and Gateway offer multimedia equipped laptops at lower prices than CPQ. What exactly are you looking for? CPQ has a new series (1900) that offers a 13.3" screen, and a snap on DVD module for multimedia. Around 3 grand I believe. The only extras I can see that Dell's Inspiron offers is the 15" screen and 8 megs of video ram instead of 4/2.5 for some of the competition. That said, I just bought my wife a Thinkpad Inote 1721, it offers a 300mhz PII, 14.1" active matrix screen, 5.4G drive, 64 meg ram, built in v.90 modem, and built in DVD drive/floppy. I have access to IBM employee prices, so I paid 2159 for the machine. Even at retail though, it initially sold for 2999, now can be had for 2699.

Regards,
John
