100 FASTEST-GROWING COMPANIES
How the Winners Keep Growing
The sunflower is an apt icon for our list of quick-blooming companies: Not only is it native to America (a requirement for our list), but it reaches heights that overshadow botanical rivals. Particularly relevant this year, it's also rich in oil, a product made or traded by about 10% of our finalists. 4Kids tops our list, bringing with it 38 other veterans and 61 newcomers. To make the list, compiled by Zacks Investment Research, companies had to have been publicly traded for at least three years and have revenue and market caps of at least $50 million. And you might notice another similarity to sunflowers: an ability to grow in tough soil.
