It might be worthwhile to check out the cover story of the current Byte Magazine (http://www.byte.com ) while it is still on the net, and on newsstands. The Sun Microsystems UltraJava chip is a potential dark horse alternative, long-term (I don't personally think so, but you never know). Bob.
