Before Walmart, there was K-Mart. And before K-Mart, there was Sears, JC Penney and Woolworths.

Oh, and in New Orleans, there was Schweggmann's. Exactly same idea as Walmart, only it never hit the big time.

Bigger stores, higher volume, so they buy in bulk and sell at a discount, that's the business model.

And now there's Sam's and BJs and Target and Kohls and so forth.

Then specialty stores like Circuit City and Best Buy and Office Depot and Staples and Home Depot.

All the same business model, huge stores, big parking lots, buy in bulk and sell at a discount.

I don't understand people who insist on paying full price. I am constitutionally incapable of buying staple goods that are not being sold at a discount.

Specialty goods, even, if possible.
