Doren; The internet system has 16M on a 486, too slow for the new 4 browser, slowed right down. But for 3 it was fine. Since the connection is only 33.6K(+) the data rate was fine for ver 3. But 4 integrates the browser with the desktop and the overhead slows things down. I will change it soon to a K6. The win 95B is the latest release full fledged of Win95, the B means it has a few extras, mainly a 32 bit file system. Win NT needs at least 32M, and has its own 32 bit file system. These two file systems will converge in the year 2000??,(Called ??, NT?, Millennia??) when there will be only one OS that will be called probably NT server, and both Win NT and Win 95/98 will stop being sold. There will also be a server OS based on NT. The extensions are very similar icons, probably supplied by the software writer and dropped on the desktop at installation time. Probably word icons will all look alike from Microsoft. The default icons supplied by the OS vary. The long filenames for Win95/B/NT??, I never see filenames in Apple, so I do not know, but I would be surprised if they were the same. Browser extensions are probably identical subject ti file naming restrictions. My laptop has 80 Meg on a Pentium(Tecra), and it hooks into the network via a 3Com card in the docking station. It also has a PMCIA card to plug in remotely for networking, and a PMCIA modem card.
