Well, then, you should not object to spending a fortune on BMD. :-) Is a BMD actually unworkable? It won't stop everything, true. A leaky tanker or a suitcase can still get through. But how do you get a leaky tanker to Minot, ND? Because when we find out who sent that tanker, that's where our answer will come from. And if they don't have a working BMD, they've got a problem. The biggest problem (besides hitting a bullet with a bullet, a mere technical detail) is decoys. Distinguishing 1 of N^3 cheap decoys from 1 of N real warheads could make the system useless.
