its generally a lagging indicator for the shorter

time frames, i follow it mostly at the weekly

for a good trend indicator, you want the ADX to
be below both +/- DI and then trade in the direction of the
rising DI (ADX will follow)

take a look at ADX weekly on NDX/COMPX/SPX to see what i mean

fwiw, implies more downside imo
