Hi Eric; Yeah chemists know that graphite is the most stable form of pure carbon. It's hard to avoid making it. A quick google search finds an article on converting CO2 to graphite:

Graphite shortage is not something that will effect the electric vehicle (or more generally, the battery) market. At the moment, there's a bunch of penny stock scams running around that depend on the assumption that graphite will be in short supply; hence the stupid articles. Try googling graphite+stock+scam, you get 7 million results:
