Dell to supply data storage to U.S. Navy, Marines

NEW YORK, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp. <DELL.O> said on Thursday it would supply data storage to the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps as part of efforts to modernize their communications networks.

The Round Rock, Texas-based computer maker said its PowerVault storage systems will provide as much as 2,000 terabytes of storage -- 200 times the printed collection of the Library of Congress. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Dell was already selected to supply the Navy and Marines with notebook and desktop computers, workstations and more powerful computers used to manage networks under a contract that was won by technology services company Electronic Data Systems Corp. <EDS.N>
