I find uninstall programs such as Remove It useful for doing just that: uninstalling programs. You can get into trouble when you use them to "clean" your computer by deleting "unnecessary" files. Some people go overboard in deleting duplicate dll files and other things, not really knowing what they are. Sean has been on some rescue missions after people he knew "cleaned" their computers. It's like opening up all the exhibit cases at the British Museum and using the vacuum cleaner to remove the dust, broken shards of pottery, loose threads on the mummies, etc. I remember Wolfgang telling me about an exhibit in Germany in which a celebrated artist displayed some sort of sculpture made of lard in a bathtub. It was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. (Some Internet stocks, at present valuations, come to mind.) After the exhibit closed, the valuable work was stowed away in a closet. A maid found her way in there and cleaned out the tub. Some uninstall programs can be as helpful if you don't know what you're deleting.
