Remember market rumors are rumors. Maybe someone like NT has made a bid for Ascend?. NT is a big company, except the tables have been turned. For months there were rumors that CISCO would by telabs, then suddenly Tellabs turned around and picked up Coherent & Cienna. I think this is what might happen to ascend. everyone is expecting it to buy someone, well what actually may happen is that the tables are turned and ascend will be acquired. Immi
