On the MSFT put selling. You can look at it two ways.

Through the rear-view mirror, when the stock is low, it looks bad on paper, since there is some paper liability. But the puts cannot be taken back to the company until they are due, which is over several years.

Yet what about this--they can sell more puts based on the current low price just like they did when the price was higher...a forward-looking thing which is a benefit.

Funny how the rear-view mirror way is what is being mentioned in the news!
