(Perhaps he uses those words because it has been such a crashing failure at achieving our nation's long-term strategic goals. Suggest if we wanted to have bin Laden killed or captured now we should position forces to ABSOLUTELY BLOCKADE Pakistan's border with Afghanistan.) "except that just a few years ago, edwards himself said he backed the war on terror..." (Perhaps he was imagining that it would be a war conducted with at least a minimum of competence and successful results? Instead of what looks like an extended series of ill-considered and misplaced actions more akin to shooting ourselves in the foot over-and-over, and aimed at bankrupting our nation, and breaking our military....)
