If optics is so lowly... Why is LU working on and announcing products that get more and more out of fibre? I think the posibilities of what fibre can carry are almost infinite. Digital networking is hot because we can squeeze alot more out of old networks than analog systems. If the carrying medium becomes stagnant in bandwidth, what do you think that will do to your growth rates in CSCO and ASND? They will stagnate also while roads and sidewalks everywhere are being dug up to put down more fibre because the fibre we are laying down today is maxed. I strongly disagree with your dismissal of optics. Just ask WMB who is going up against all telecoms WITH JUST ONE STRAND OF FIBRE! Pete :o)
