Ian, It's certainly true that you can always wait a little longer and likely get a more powerful device at a lower cost. You might end up never owning a new PC as a result. However, the current introductions of hot new processors coupled with the much publicized price wars are probably capturing the attention more potential buyers than normal. I don't think this is the best time for PC consumers to be questioning whether to buy now or later. "Now" is always better, and not every "later" ends up getting purchased. In any case, I agree that it makes sense to buy a new PC when you absolutely need one. This is probably a non-issue.
