XOOM.com Launches Free Electronic Storefront Service for Small Business Owners

XOOM.com Member Stores Allows Users to Build and Promote Their Own Online
 Store for Free

 SAN FRANCISCO, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- XOOM.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: XMCM), a
leading direct e-commerce company, today announced the launch of XOOM.com
Member Stores, a free service that allows small business owners to build and
promote their own online stores. The service includes EasyStoreBuilder, a
Web-based application that allows participants to quickly and easily create an
online store, as well as the opportunity to promote their store in the
XOOM.com Member Stores shopping area. XOOM.com partnered with Netgateway Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: NGWY), a full service e-commerce provider, to create,
host and manage the electronic storefront service.
 XOOM.com members can use EasyStoreBuilder ( xoom.com ) to
create a free online store with up to three different products. It also
includes technical support and instructions on how to establish an
Internet-ready credit card merchant account. Members may elect to upgrade to
a larger storefront for a monthly fee starting at $89.95. Once a store is
built, owners can then promote their store within the shopping area of
 XOOM.com Member Stores ( xoommemberstores.com ).
"Unlike our Affiliate Network, which allows home page builders to earn
commissions on XOOM.com sales, XOOM.com Member Stores empowers small business
owners to sell their own products online, whether they already have a Web site
or not," said Stuart Illian, Vice President of Channel Development for
XOOM.com. "Since we have one of the most popular sites on the Web, we can
also help drive traffic to participant's stores via the XOOM.com Member Stores
 shopping area."
XOOM.com will promote the service to its more than 7.5 million members and
its visitors. The program provides both an opportunity for small businesses to
quickly and easily participate in the emerging e-commerce marketplace and a
 shopping destination for XOOM.com members.
