Dale, what happened yesterday at Iowa is what your thread reflects, which is move towards the Center.

McCain, to me was one who was a Center type of a person in 2000. But right now he is closely aligned with Bush's policies (immigration, Iraq), even though he has opposed Bush on things like eavesdropping and torture. Hence people in his own party will not vote for him because on his stance on immigration etc. That would leave the Independents wondering why they should support MaCain when his own party members don't and when they have a choice to put their support behind Obama.
