Access "data" databases are not all that large considering what
you get. VBA, forms, etc, yep. They mount up in a hurry.
Something we did in perl was 500K is 100+M in Acccess, although significantly faster on complex queries.

Filemaker is made by Apple (Claris). Oracle (also include informix and sybase) as you know is the real deal. Hardly easy to use although they have made great strides.
