Brian, I had a converstation the other day with a semi engineer working for Thompson S.A. the French electronic firm they bulid 486's and 686's. Apparently under liscence from Cyrix. His job is to burn inthe chip before they clock them. He said the yields on the 486's are efficently high above 80%, but the yields on the 686's are poor because of the equipment the co purchased. He also said their buliding another fab to increase production because of demand. I asked him if the chips were made for Europian export but he said he did'nt know. Here is good French money being spent to increase production for old gneration chips. A point Sanders has repeatedly made for good money to be made from resudial technology.
