He went there because he loves the Violin, and they are the best from what he has found. If it makes him happy, he is wise to do what he did. He may find a career, or a line of business in the field. If not, he'll have a fun avocation. Except for hard sciences and professions, college most of the time tuns out to be general education anyway. But if he's lucky and will be able to make a living doing what he enjoys, more power to him.
