Being an ex-design team member of their MPEG2 decoder group,
I won't bet on SONY's own MPEG II decoder/encoder. Both 'r
bein' poorly designed, behind schedule and badly managed.
I know, for sure, SONY Japan people, who are workin'
on the DVD player, are also talkin' to outside manufacturers, viz.
LSI, C-CUBE etc for those parts.

SONY can be one of the 'ten companies'...
