Eric,
As part of my business includes web development and construction, i am hoping that the reason for the sort term lack of access to the GE web site and the lack of the latest news not being there within 24 hours of it's release is because they may be working on updating the site and giving it another overhaul.
By rights the web site should never be offline even if there is a major rehaul of the layout and content, it is all completed offline then uploaded to the server within .25 seconds.
A news release of any kind should take no longer than 20 minutes to put into HTML and upload to the server.
Put it this way, if your going to bother having a web site then it should be used and kept @ a level for which the people who will be using it as ternative form of getting updates and the latest information from the company -- expect. This mean when there is a news release it should be on the web at the same time that news is streamed to all other areas of the media.
Web sites are supposed to be the quickest way to get the information that you want when you want, anything less and you might not as well have a active site.
People are too well educated now to be impressed, just because a company has a web site and it can become very embarrasing if this web site which 'was released as a major news bulletin' is not kept to a level that befit's it very reason for existence.
All i hope is if GE continue to want to utilise this web site as they said they would in their news release, then they better start to have someone concentrate on keeping it to a operating 110 % at all times; not just when news is released.
Eric, if there is going to be a movie i will be in the front row, but lately the web site has just been so boring and slow on the upkeep that i would never visit it again -- and why would you.
Hey -'GE'- how about a Email service that allow's those sharholders who are interested in the latest updates made on the site, get a Email alert when changes occur ??
.
I am not trying to be negative toward the company, simply if someone from the company read's these post's and we know they probably do, then please guys, get it together and make the web enought o make us want to use it as a weekly or bi weekly resource for the company and the future that we are all wanting to be a part of.
Good Trading to all,
Jay. |
