Allen, My guess is that Apple has had some problem yet to be let out to the general public and the freebee upgrade is IMHO Apple's way of trying to comfort some pretty pissed off customers like you who were expecting their preorders to show up at their door any day now. This is highly uncharacteristic of Apple product launches. Speculations aside, I put in an order just this Monday for a MBP for my daughter, would just couldn't wait any longer, and her ship date was March 15. I figure that date is going to be even later now given that people who ordered the first day have now been delayed further. Oh well!
