I think that you are right. There is no was short of bankruptcy that AMD is just going to roll over and stop. They have to survive. This has been my concern about Intels short strategy. The resultant cost to Intel shareholders may be much higher the cost AMD shareholders. Intels market cap is so big so as to almost guarantee it.

IMHO you are correct that Intel has to finesse their way with cost reducing architectural changes rather than sell more for less. I hope people in Intel HQ in Santa Clara saw the negative sixteen dollar stock response of INTC the past three days. The should be a good time with the Pentium III roll out. One shareholder at least is worried.
