...plus (experience with German tax law), if you think you can avoid VAT on services etc: either you risk not showing any income - ie tax evasion in plain words. Or you end up being double-taxed: VAT plus the income tax, means (let's say 16% VAT and pretty average 26% income tax) every third euro for the tax man.But of course there's some beauty to this beast: every third euro after tax-deductible costs. And you can always pass the VAT up the food chain. Which in case of intellectual services is pretty short, if not altogether nonexistent.
