This is so ridiculous:
"Monday's results: The race between Gov. George W. Bush and Vice President Al Gore tightened Monday with just two points separating the candidates. Bush leads Gore 46% to 44%. Bush led by as many as 10 percentage points over the weekend, continuing a trend in which he received a boost from from his performance in each of the three presidential debates, only to lose some of that advantage in subsequent days.

"USA TODAY poll analysts believe today's decline is attributable to a dissipation in GOP excitement after last week's debate, while Democratic voters appear more energized. For example, the number of Republicans who said they had given "quite a lot" of thought about the election dropped from 36% in Sunday's results to 32% in Monday's, while the corresponding numbers for Democrats climbed from 35% to 38%."

Why don't they just admit their 10% lead poll was wrong to begin with? It was the only poll that showed Bush that far ahead. The real margin was about 5% now it's about 2%. Gore supporters are getting energized

You can tell I am and I'm a good bellweather. By the way I have called every presidential election in my life that I can remember including both Carter and Clinton before anyone had even heard of them nationally. But this race I simply cannot call. I still don't see the US voting in Bush after 8 years of good times. Doesn't make sense. I met Al Gore once and was supremely impressed with how nice, serious and studio he is. It's not charisma it's the real thing. It's taking everything he does seriously and caring about it. That is Bush's biggest weakness, issues aside.
