Thanks Hitsoft. I ended up with some odd number of Raytheon shares as a result of being a GM shareholder through the Hughes spinoff. They recently offered to let me round up or cash in and I cashed in. I'm going to treat the total amount as a long term cap gain and just wanted the correct date of acquisition to put down for the IRS.
