My reaction was probably just frustration. Like oh great, can VLSI hook up with a company that the market hates any more than VLSI itself. Yes. Cypress.

Somebody with a better memory might be able to verify this. But I seem to recall that TJ Rodgers, of Cypress CEO and political activist fame, resigned from the Board of Directors at VLSI sometime within the last six months. How would this affect the above speculation?
