In 10 or 20 years I doubt Qwest will still be around. It will probably be part of Bell South. In the meantime it should do very nicely, although I do think that we could have some bumps in the next few quarters until the USW aquisition is complete.

My question would be, what would be the value of Qwest without an RBOC? I feel that it would be pretty much down the tubes in a few years when bandwidth becomes a commodity. My opinion is that it is much more valuable with USW on one end and a connection with Bell South on the other. And a very modern backbone connecting them.

I personally like the idea of purchasing USW and have fully supported Nacchio and Anschultz in this. Without it Qwest is simply a data pipe with a product that would be in price erosion.
