You asked your customers whether they were "liberal" or "conservative".

You spend an hour or so talking tax policy with someone and you pretty much know where they stand.

I would guess easily that I knew where 80% of my clients stood. Of course, I was in practice in TX most of the time and liberals stuck out like a sore thumb. In AR, as well, since my practice in AR was in a predominantly black community during the Clinton and many of my clients knew Clinton personally.
