I think you have it backwards. What is happening now is a shift in leadership. Whenever such a shift occurs it causes volatility. MSFT, INTC, DELL (old economy stocks <g>) are not the market leaders they once were. ORCL, CSCO, EMC, SUNW are the new leaders. This shift in thinking though does not happen instantly. If usually takes several quarters to cement the leadership. Once this happens, you will see much less volatility in the markets, barring a war.

Being long and watching this unfold is quite interesting and should be profitable.
