These are assumptions, no facts.
The only facts we have of CO2 contents of the atmosphere around and vs. global warmings are based on ancient ice cores from deep drilling cores close to the poles.
None of those show CO2 rises preceding (global?) warming periods.
As a matter of fact the CO2 increases seem to follow the periods of warming.
This said, by reducing our CO2 output, we may be able to prevent the previous warming from happening...kind of like killing those poor vikings on Greenland prematurely :).
